I love to write stories and play games. The world literally at my finger tips does whatever I want. Do I want the hero to save the world, or have every single one burn? The world is mine to command. Music from this site determines what happens. You decide

Well hello everyone. Welcome to Story Cast #5! I know your excited to read the story so I'm not stopping you from skipping this and reading it., but hear me out.
I created this story when listening to the music creation of Mural OST - Drifting by BlazingDragon. I must admit this is one of my first times trying to capture the happy moment. I hope I did well. Because believe it or not, I am writing a book. Well more accurately a book series. I listen to music while I am writing my book. music downloaded from here. Needless to say I will be listening to this particular track when I need to write a happy moment.
Anyway enough rambling. You came here to read a story. So a story you shall have!

Dakaru looked out the window in the observation room. In the distance he saw his home world. The view was breath taking. It looked untouched from the devastation he was coming from.
He had been in space for a long time. Longer than most marines. The war had been a long and grueling affair. Fourteen years constantly on the move, and fighting for his beloved empire. The war had ended with his empire being the victor. With the downfall of their enemies the marines were one by one being sent home. Dakaru was among the last.
I've been away for fourteen years,he thought to himself. Will my wife even recognize me? Not to mention my kids. My youngest must now be getting out of university. He turned his back to the window. He walked out of the room and strolled the hallways reminiscing the life he had left behind.
He remembered the time he proposed to his wife, Sarah and how he had chosen the night when the stars would be the brightest. When they could gaze through his telescope and view stars you couldn't see on any other night. He remembered her beautiful face almost crying in joy.
His thoughts then moved on to his first child. Melina. He remembered nothing but joy when he held her in his arms for the first time. He remembered the day she assembled her own Hovercycle how proud he was.
Dakaru walked into his quarters and looked at the spartan set up he had. Devoid of anything of comfort besides a stiff bed, a small desk and a creaky old chair. Even as a captain he had to live sparse. He sat on his bed and put his head in his hands. Will they hate me for going? For not being there? He laid down and stared at the ceiling.
A voice over the com awoke him a few minutes later. "Dakaru please report to the shuttle bay for departure. Dakaru Please report to the shuttle bay for departure." He sat up and took a deep breath. I'm going home. I'm going home!Dakaru fought the urge to run. He may be going home but he still had to an example to show. But in the end he could help but run onto the shuttle and look out the window as it took him down onto the planet's surface.
Dakaru was the first off the shuttle. Even as his feet touch the ground of his home for the first time in fifteen years he spotted his family. He ran not caring about his position any longer. He hugged them and kissed them.
Together they walked out of the shuttle terminal and Sarah drove him home. His kids talked nonstop telling him of everything from the last week, as if he had never left. As they approached the house Dakaru felt tears in his eyes. It's good to be home, He thought to himself. It's good to be home.
P.S. Tell me what you think. Did I capture the happy moment? Any improvement that could be made? Did I spell something wrong? Any feedback would be helpful.
